Cheltenham Town's recent win over League Two big spenders Crawley Town brought more than just a smile to Robin's fans faces - it also jettisoned Dean Windass off the top of the all time 'CTFC Twat List'.

Cheltenham Town’s recent win over League Two big spenders Crawley Town brought more than just a smile to Robin’s fans faces – it also dislodged Dean Windass off the top of the all time ‘CTFC Tit List’.

The chubby northerner had been sat aloft the summit of Cheltenham’s most derided individuals following his alleged manhandling of John Finnigan’s testicles in a clash against Bradford City in 2006. However, Saturday’s 3 – 1 triumph over Crawley pushed former Robins striker Wes Thomas and the convicted criminal Steve Evans to the top of the charts.

Thomas had refused to sign a contract extension with Cheltenham and instead decided to turn his back on the manager that took a huge risk when signing the non league bit part player in 2010, opting to join moneybags Crawley Town earlier this year.

The reception upon his return to the Abbey Business stadium was mixed, that was until the 39th minute when he lost the respect of everyone in the stadium, including his former teammates. A Crawley Town player feigned injury on edge of his penalty box which resulted in the referee stopping the match in open play whilst Danny Andrew was in possession. Play restarted with an uncontested drop ball and the Red Devils sportingly lumping the ball toward Scott Brown when, for some reason only known to Wes Thomas, he decided to chase the back pass with a view to catching the defence asleep.

Luckily for the Robins, Steve Elliott wasn’t caught napping and spotted the unsporting efforts of Thomas and intercepted his blatant attempt to score whilst the defenders backs were turned. Met with a fully justified barrage of booing and pelted with insults, the striker landed firmly on his arse following the tackle but worse was to follow for the cheating Thomas when Elliott’s subsequent clearance found Jeff Goulding at the other end of the pitch who neatly tucked the ball into the back of the net.

Any neutrals attending the match would have been surprised to learn that Wes Thomas was a former friend and work colleague of the men in Ruby shirts as they rushed towards the unsporting cheat to tell what they thought of his actions. He did not appear for the second half.

Dean Windass was at this point sat in second place in the ‘CTFC Tit List’, but within an hour he would be demoted to third.

Steve Evans, a convicted criminal who received a one year suspended sentence in 2006 for tax evasion, was more than ungracious in defeat during his post match interview (an interview in which the rotund former striker sounded like he was having an aneurysm).

Despite only subjecting the Robins goal to two shots on target throughout the whole game (one of those was the penalty), the tubby Scot concluded that “Our [Crawley] performance in the second half of that league game was exceptional”, “The gulf in class was evident in the second half”, “We were beaten by a poor side”, “We should have won the second half 3-0 or maybe more”.

Gallers Poised For Switch To Big Brother?

Could Andy Gallinagh’s reported calf strain simply be a foil for a summer stint in the Big Brother house?

Could Andy Gallinagh’s reported calf strain simply be a foil for a summer stint in the Big Brother house?

Many people assumed comments from Mark Yates were suggesting that a move away from the club related to interest from another football club.

However, a source told cheltenhamshire.co.uk that the 26 year old midfielder is an avid fan of the reality television show whom has unsuccessfully applied for a place on the in the BB house for the last 8 years. ‘He loves the show, especially Davina’, ‘I know she’s not presenting it this year, but he’d still love to have a go, I think he’d be a star’.

It is believed Robins director of advertising could use Gallers desire to appear on the show as an audacious marketing ploy to raise the profile of the club, with suggestions that he could have ticketing information and special offers tattooed on his body to publicise the club to an audience of millions.

Celebrity Big Brother starts on Channel 5 on Thursday 18th August.

The players and backroom staff attended a suit fitting at a secret Cheltenham location which followed an invitation by Racecourse chief executive Edward Gillespie with an offer to kit the team out with the finest horse-going apparel.

The Robins players will arrive at future matches (home and away) in true style with a Barbour designed ensemble costing in excess of £1,000 per person.

“I think it looks lush”, Robins goalkeeper Scott Brown told Cheltenhamshire.co.uk, “My Mrs really fancies me in it”.

The suit fitting comes shortly after Cheltenham chairman Paul Baker told supporters that the club is in a healthy position to progress and could move to a new stadium at the Racecourse as early as 2014.

Cheltenham supporters were spared an impromptu streak from a rotund female fan during a recent home game after becoming wedged in a ladies toilet cubicle.

Lorraine Spicer of London Road, Cheltenham was attending the midweek Carling Cup match against MK Dons when her friends dared her to ‘pull the referees shorts down’. Miss Spicer and her group of work colleagues had been drinking since lunchtime and were in fine spirits by kick off arrived.

Oliver McKay told cheltenhamshire.co.uk ‘When the third goal went in, her mates told her to run on the pitch and nick the refs keks, she said she’d go one better and do it nude’. Mr Mckay continued, ‘She ran off to the bogs to strip off and wasn’t seen for the rest of the game, I was gutted, I wanted to see her baps’.

The alarm was raised by her friend when the 56GG buxom brunette failed to return and was later found topless by security staff wedged in the ladies toilet cubicle.

‘I was so embarrassed’ Miss Spicer told reporters.

Cheltenham Town are re-evaluating their association with local cheerleading group 'The Cheltenham Dynamites' after what appeared to be a pre-arranged scuffle was staged at a town centre trading estate.

Cheltenham Town are re-evaluating their association with local cheerleading group ‘The Cheltenham Dynamites’ after what appeared to be a pre-arranged scuffle was staged at a town centre trading estate.

Residents near the location in the Gloucester Road area were awakened in the early hours of Sunday morning to sounds of broken glass, shouting and general disorder. Police were called and several arrests were made, however all parties were laer released with only cautions being issued.

It is understood the Dynamites had been arranging the confrontation against fierce local rivals (The Gloucester Fireflies) in an online internet chat room, culminating in the disturbance on Sunday.

Spokeswoman for the group, Shaznay De La Cruz (15) said, ‘Them bitches deserved what they got, stupid dumb bitches’.

Marcus Llewelyn, who runs the ‘Kick Violence Out Of Football’ campaign, told cheltenhamshire.co.uk, ‘This type of violence is almost unheard of. Although it is widely accepted that opposing fans do pre-arrange fights, which is something we are actively trying to stamp out, however disturbances between cheerleaders is something that worries us greatly.

Music lovers in the area were left disappointed as Cheltenham Borough Council revoked an entertainment licence for an 80′s pop revival concert at the Abbey Business Stadium.

The gig had been part of the agreement when the stadium was renamed, with 80′s pop acts such as Rick Astley, Sonia and Milli Vanilli due to headline.

Details relating to the councils decision to revoke the licence are sketchy, but it is understood that residents in the Wymans Road area caught wind of the proposed concert and lodged an immediate objection to the authorities. Derek Ward, 62, told cheltenhamshire, “they can stick their fucking boom boom music up their arse”, he added, “I have my grand daughter over on Saturday’s, how will she sleep with all that shit going on all night?”.

The council refused to comment, however Terence Trent D’Arby, who was due to sing his 1988 number 2 hit “Sign Your Name” was said be devastated at the news.
